Purpose:

Scientific discovery is informed by policy and vice versa. Engagement of scientists in policy is needed for informed and effective policy making regarding issues that are informed by science, impact scientific research and/or scientists themselves. To help inform and encourage policy involvement, this subcommittee engages in member education on all ASPETs policy interests, assists in build advocacy materials like alerts and calls for action, contributes to and promotes Advocacy Brief (ASPET's advocacy briefing newsletter).
