Purpose:

1. Assess interests of and incentives for current ASPET membership and evaluate their views on private sector science to support appropriate opportunities 2. Understand the reasons why current ASPET members from industry originally joined the Society and remain ASPET members • Learn the reasons why former ASPET members from industry are no longer members of the Society. 3. Assist in building an ASPET value proposition for private sector pharmacologists • Identify member benefits and program opportunities that would increase the value of industry involvement with ASPET, both at the individual and organizational level • Provide recommendations on how ASPET can communicate its value to those in industry • Devise plans for reversing the dwindling private-section membership trend within ASPET 4. Enable inclusiveness to broaden the audience in the pharmacology discipline • Identify and recruit industry members for ASPET • Establish avenues for involvement of industry pharmacologists (e.g., participation in annual meeting program, webinars, etc.) 5. Increase mentorship and professional development opportunities to foster a community of diverse career paths • Facilitate connections for those interested in exploring careers in the private sector • Provide and direct members to industry resources (e.g, industry-sponsored funding, collaborative partnerships, etc.) 6. Develop relationships by communicating with other societies (e.g., ACT/SOT) to generate interest, increase visibility, and establish collaborative partnerships.
